LitLeague™ is an exciting new after-school, extended-day, enrichment, or intervention program that provides a joyous and interactive experience for young readers. It results from a one-of-a-kind partnership between Scholastic and best-selling authorand literacy expert Pam Allyn.
LitLeague™ creates a highly engaging social-emotional literacy learning environment where children participate in book-related activities including read-alouds, group discussion, independent reading, writing activities, games, songs, and more. The daily time frame can range from 45 minutes to three hours, depending on preference.
Each LitLeague™ lesson is built around authentic Scholastic trade books and Allyn's three corepillars of teaching and learning: essential literacy skills, social-emotional learning capacity, and
engagement. A typical lesson includes:
Power Up!
Whole-group read-alouds and activities focusing on the three pillars.
Workout!
Children self-select authentic books for independent reading.

Wrap-up group activities and games.
