LitCamp Orange Bunk Grades 1-2

LitCamp is a breakthrough summer literacy program that provides best-practices Science of Reading instruction in an engaging and welcoming summer camp atmosphere. Designed to accelerate achievement, increase engagement, and strengthen foundational and fluency skills, the program builds lifelong readers and writers through robust, meaningful lessons and activities.

The 4-8 week program combines innovative, research-based curricula with an engaging and interactive summer camp structure and includes:
• Daily foundational skills instruction followed by the application of the skills in whole-group activities and games
• Fluency practice modeled through shared reading and Readers' Theater activities
• Diverse, engaging knowledge-building Read-Aloud Books that are explicitly aligned to core knowledge areas
• Topic-related text sets that include decodables and short reads
• Daily writing instruction and practice embedded in instruction
• Leader's Guide instructional support and assessment tools
• LitCamper Notebooks to keep and preserve student work
• Family Guides in English and Spanish to increase family engagement
• Access to a companion website with downloadable resources

LitCamp supports all campers as they build a positive mindset, building literacy skills and cultivating overall well-being. Lessons are supported by the seven key strengths that ensure they develop the critical personal skills necessary to enter the school year ahead with success. The 7 Strengths include belonging, friendship, kindness, curiosity, confidence, courage, and hope.
