On September 11, 1814, the British Fleet arrived at the mouth of the Patapsco River. Thus began the Battle of Baltimore, which inspired Francis Scott Key to pen The Star-Spangled Banner. Featuring Aretha Franklin's soulful, heartfelt voice, our flag's broad strips and bright stars shine through in this moving rendition of our national anthem.
