Description

As a student at Oberlin College in 1843, Lucy Stone learned that women weren”t allowed to join the college debating society. Lucy organized her own group for women and was soon making a name for herself as an orator. After college, she became a public speaker, speaking against slavery and for women”s rights. She also worked to help women gain the right to vote.
