This set of six titles provides beginning-to-intermediate readers with clear, concise information about each type of weather and what happens on days when there is that type of weather. With a "word hunt" section at the beginning of each book, the reader automatically has a purpose for reading. Words in that section are bolded throughout the book and most include pictorial examples. Large, easy-to-read print, bright borders and photographs are sure to attract readers' attention. Each title offers a short activity segment for expanding students' knowledge on that subject, followed by a "find out more" booklist. There is also pertinent information about guided reading level, word count, decode-ability, and number of sight words, which are all valuable tools for selecting appropriate books for students.
