Students who have access to books at home read more frequently and develop stronger literacy skills. Unfortunately, many of my students do not have books of their own. This year, I have two main goals. First, I want to bring high-quality, engaging books into our classroom for shared reading—stories that spark excitement, nurture a love of reading, and help students build fluency and comprehension skills. Second, I want my students to be able to keep these books so they can reread them at home and begin building personal libraries of their own. Having books they can treasure and return to again and again will support their growth as confident, joyful readers.
