Our Story & How We’ll Use the Funds At Annie’s Early Learning Center, we believe that every child deserves access to books and the opportunity to fall in love with reading. We serve children from infants through school age, and we work hard to create a learning environment where children feel safe, supported, curious, and excited to learn. Our teachers use books every day to introduce children to new ideas, build vocabulary, encourage imagination, and help children understand the world around them. For many of our children, the classroom library is an important part of their early learning experience. If awarded Scholastic funds, we would use them to build and expand our classroom libraries with high-quality, age-appropriate books for all of our classrooms. We would especially love to add books that represent different families, cultures, interests, abilities, and everyday experiences so that every child can see themselves reflected in the stories they read. We would also use the funds to provide children with opportunities to take books home and share reading with their families. Our goal is not only to encourage children to enjoy books at school, but to help create a love of reading that continues at home. A Scholastic donation would make a meaningful difference in our center.
