Great question - it is a vending machine where students redeem tokens for books, just as you would redeem coins for snacks/drinks in a traditional vending machine. NOW ONTO PHASE TWO - STOCK...read more INCHY WITH BOOKS! 📚🐛📚 As a public, K-12 school, this is an initiative to serve all of our students from kindergarten through high school. We do not have a traditional library where students can come checkout books. We want to ensure that we have a wide variety of books that will appeal to all reading levels and reading interests. Our hope is to purchase class sets of books so that when a student chooses a book, another book of the same title is behind it (just as in a snack vending machine). This allows friends to choose the same book and read a book together, if they so choose. Book options will be regularly rotated to ensure students can make fresh choices for each earned book reward. We will purchase an array of picture books, informational texts, chapter books and graphic novels. With your donations, we will be able to access the full Scholastic book catalog and stock our book vending machine throughout the year. In addition to stocking Inchy, we plan to create a book sharing space where students can exchange used books with one another when they have outgrown a reading level or genre.
