Hello! I'm Tracie and I teach 1st grade at Carter Elementary School in Montrose, MI. I am launching this campaign in hopes of providing each of my students with a couple of learning enhancement opportunities. First, each student would receive a subscription to Scholastic News Magazine and Science Spin Magazine for the 2023-2024 school year. These magazines are highly engaging and are a great way to put high interest grade level material into the hands, and homes, of my students. These subscriptions also include access to a digital copy of the magazine, along with additional tools and videos, for the kids to utilize. These short non-fiction resources are a wonderful complement to our curriculum. Second, each student would be provided with books, at their individual reading level, to take home. These books would enhance students' ability to practice reading at their level, build up their home library, and spread the joy of a good book. (Many students do not have home libraries that provide them with opportunities to practice reading.) Thank you for reading about how I would use this campaign to directly impact student learning.
