Winter break is a wonderful time for rest and family bonding, but for young, struggling readers, a long break without reading practice can lead to a setback in their literacy progress. As reading intervention teachers, our mission every day is to help students overcome reading challenges, build confidence, and discover a true love for stories. This holiday season, we want to send every one of our elementary reading intervention students home with their very own Winter Read-Aloud Book to keep! Why Read-Aloud Books Matter Many of our intervention students do not have easy access to books at home. Read-aloud books are a powerful tool because they allow families to share the joy of reading together. When parents, guardians, or older siblings read aloud with a child: Vocabulary Expands: Children hear rich language and story structures beyond their current independent reading level. Comprehension Grows: Families can pause, ask questions, and talk about the story together. Confidence Builds: Reading becomes a positive, stress-free family bonding experience rather than a difficult task. How Your Donation Helps Our goal of $500 will cover the cost of brand-new, high-quality, engaging winter-themed books for all of our intervention students. Every dollar brings us closer to ensuring that no child goes into winter break without a book in their hands and a story in their heart. Thank you so much for supporting our young readers and investing in their literacy journey!
