We are hoping to expand our classroom library! As a new teacher it can be a struggle to gather new classroom materials. These books will be a fun way to encourage our high school EC students to read and enhance their skills. Reading is crucial for students because it significantly contributes to their language development, cognitive skills, imagination, and overall literacy foundation. These are essential for success in their learning years and beyond; it helps them acquire vocabulary, understand concepts, and develop a love for learning through exposure to diverse stories and characters. With these new books, my students will be able to grow and develop their literacy skills in a sensory friendly environment. Unfortunately, going to the library is sometimes a hard transition and there aren't any books on their reading level, which makes it difficult.
