Umatilla School District Parent Teacher Club purchased an INCHY Bookworm Vending Machine for McNary Heights Elementary School. Now we need your help to fill and keep our vending machine full. Every month our kids participate in a 20/20 reading challenge. This is where they read 20 minutes a day for 20 days in a month at home. The sheet is then signed by parent or guardian, then returned to the library and the kiddo gets a small prize, they are also entered in a quarterly drawing for a bigger prize. This year they will receive a golden token and get to pick a free book out of the vending machine every time they turn in their monthly 20/20 reading sheet. We get between 75-100 kiddos that turn their papers in each month. That would be 75-100 books potentially needed each month. You can donate money and we can purchase the different levels of books through out the year that are needed. At this moment, we are short on K-2nd grade Spanish and English books. We are appreciative of it all.
