I am the Reading Specialist trained in dyslexia at Petersburg Elementary School in Petersburg, IN. I work with students who show the characteristics of dyslexia and thus require interventions. These students most often come to me with a great dislike of reading because they lack the skills necessary to be a successful reader. My desire is to provide books in my personal library that piques their interest and encourages them to read. Being an avid reader myself and desire for my students to acquire a love for reading as well. Reading takes us places and transports us to new worlds in our imagination. During these difficult times of social distancing and school closures, reading would offer an escape.
