Hello! My name is Kristen Hench and I teach 2nd grade at Etiwanda Colony Elementary. I’m raising funds to give each of my 24 students at least two books monthly — one fiction book and one nonfiction books. I hope that these books will inspire my students to read with their families. Children are taught how to read at school, but the real joy of reading is found at home. One of the biggest joys of teaching is seeing a student fall in love with a book. But it’s not always easy to get the right book in the hands of the right reader. Some of my students are interested in books about animals, while others love sports or history. Not only are my students interested in different things, but they also read at different levels.
