My students come from an urban area with diverse backgrounds, so they are facing multiple life issues. I wish for each one of my students to have the opportunities that they so rightfully deserve in a classroom environment that provides ample and worthwhile reading experiences. Their future matters. Books are important to have in any classroom setting and at home. I would love to have a various selection of picture books for my students. Books on various cultures, such as "Whoever We Are" touches on the many cultures that are represented in the classroom and around our community. I want my students to make cultural connections by having books that represents their heritage. Books take us on a journey full of many surprises. Books by notable authors, such as Dr. Seuss and Mo Willems are wonderful because their stories are fun-filled and memorable. I want my students to start their reading journey now at a young age because reading a book is an adventure like no other.
