Hello, my name is Samaah and I am a first-year, 1st grade teacher at Thomson Estates Elementary School. TEES is a Title 1 school which means the majority of the families that have students attending the school are living below the poverty line. In that regard typically these students do not have access to the same literacy-rich environment at home that they encounter at school. My goal is to raise money in order to send 1 book home each month for every student in my classroom but in order to do that, I need your help! I hope that these books will inspire my students to read with their families. Children are taught how to read at school, but the real joy of reading is found at home. When you become a Book Fairy by contributing to my campaign, you’ll help me raise $350 to send books home with students. Any extra funds will go toward building our classroom library and will benefit kids for years to come.
