Hi there, I’m Melissa Anders and I am the Director at Our House Daycare & Pre-k. I launched this campaign to get more books in my students’ hands and in my classrooms by expanding our classroom libraries. One of the biggest joys of being a director is being able to see the students fall in love with a book. But it’s not always easy to get the right book in the hands of the right beginning reader/ reader. Some of the students are interested in books about animals, while others love fairy tales, counting books, or ABC books. Not only are my students interested in different things, but they also are at different ages. I can only be the director I want to be if I can help my students become better readers or at least introduce them to books. The most effective way to do this is to fill my classroom libraries with a diverse collection of books across a variety of levels.
