During the Global Pandemic and teaching Kindergarten online and in-person during that time, I realized how important it is for my students to have books to keep in their own personal libraries at home. This creates a love of learning and reading for our youngest readers at home. Having a personal library at home, fosters the love of literacy in a safe environment for all students and families. During the past few school years, I successfully completed two Scholastic Campaigns. Students received over 15 books for their Home Libraries thanks to all the generous donations! Throughout the 2020-2021 school year, I independently funded for all of my students to add 10 books to their home libraries. Students received a new book a month from me through Scholastic Dollar Book Deals. As a teacher, it was financially difficult for me to do this. However, I will continue to do this in order for my students to have books to read at home. I know it will continue to inspire students' love of reading stories and learning.
