My name is Sarah and I teach 8th grade in Stafford County. My goal as an English teacher is to find that spark in each child that helps them connect with some type of literature: novels, short stories, graphic novels, manga, informational articles, etc. In my first year of teaching, I was shocked by how many students just outright refuse to read. Not just class materials, but anything at all! With these funds I want to work towards providing that variety and collecting the resources that might help me to better implement my curriculum in the classroom.
