Hello there, I’m Shayna and I'm the manager of Willamette Family's Child Development Center (CDC). The CDC provides early childhood educational services and support for children whose parents participate in Willamette Family's substance use treatment and mental health services. These children are introduced to literacy in our center, however they sometimes do not have the resources available to establish a home library. We believe the real joy of reading and a child's development are reinforced at home with their families. Can you help us give these children the opportunity to grow their home library? Our center serves up to 54 children at one time. We would love to provide more awareness around diversity by introducing the books during classroom reading times and want to send each child home with at least one of those books read. Our hope is that these books will inspire children to read and spend time with their families. My target is to raise $800 to purchase books to send home with students.
