Hello Black River Readers and Families! We are celebrating our one year anniversary with our book vending machine--and what a joyful year it has been. Black River Montessori Elementary has gifted over 1,500 brand new books to our deserving students thanks to last year's incredibly successful campaign. It's that time of year again! Did you know that March is National Reading Month? Please join us in celebrating by making a pledge to support your reader this month. All funds will go towards keeping our vending machine stocked with free books for students for the next calendar year. Here's how it works: students will be asked to read for 20 minutes a day for 30 days in March. Parents, grandparents, friends and neighbors can make a pledge to support their young reader in this challenge. All funds collected will go directly towards new books for our vending machine. As you make your donation, please add your child's teacher's name in the comment section. The Kindergarten, Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary class that collects the most money will earn an extra fun read aloud with Mr. Jim with a delicious treat included! All elementary students will have ongoing opportunities to visit the vending machine throughout each school year. Thank you for helping us spread the joy of reading!
