I am asking for help to building a classroom library that will inspire and nurture a love for reading among our bilingual students. Reading is a crucial skill that opens up a world of knowledge and imagination. However, for many of our students, finding books that reflect their experiences and backgrounds can be a challenge. My goal is to create a library filled with a diverse range of books that not only help students develop good reading habits but also allow them to see themselves in the stories they read. Why This Library Matters - Encourages... Reading Habits: A well-stocked library encourages students to read more, helping them to develop lifelong reading habits. Self-Discovery: Books that reflect our students' experiences as bilingual individuals help them learn about themselves and their identities. Builds Stamina: Regular reading helps students build stamina and become more proficient readers. Skills Practice: Access to a variety of books allows students to practice new reading skills as they learn them. My Vision- I envision a library that includes: Culturally Diverse Books: Stories that reflect the rich cultural backgrounds of our students. Bilingual Books: Books in both English and their native languages to support language development. Variety of Genres: Fiction, non-fiction, poetry, graphic novels, and more to cater to different interests and reading levels. How You Can Help?
