I have been very blessed to receive several books from a retired teacher, however, my classroom library is lacking diversity in both genre and characters. I would like to build my library to be one where every child can pick a book with characters that they can relate to. I would also like to add a wider selection of nonfiction texts to my library, as only a small amount of my books fall under that genre. I plan to use the funds to buy newer titles that include diverse characters and more informational books about history and science.
