Inspired by her amazing dedication, I (Emily Goodman) am working together with Nancy Wright, a teacher at Joyce Kilmer Elementary School in Chicago, IL. We are providing the 700 students at her school, grades K-8, who are mostly from low-income households, with the opportunity to choose books to take home and keep as their very own. She independently raised the money to install a book vending machine at her school, and on an ongoing basis, she provides tokens for students to utilize the machine at no cost. Now she needs to keep the machine stocked so that the children can continue to take books home, develop a love of reading and feel the pride of having their very own books.
