As some of you know, I have accepted a new teaching position for next school year teaching special needs Pre-K/Headstart. I am launching this campaign in order to raise funds to not only build a classroom library, but to provide my students with books that promote social and emotional development. Social emotional development is critical in the preschool setting, and even more so in those children with special needs. These children develop appropriate social skills through lots of practicing, modeling, repetition, visual cues, and support.
