Roseville High School's literacy initiative includes a program for students who are not yet reading at grade level called Reading Enrichment. We need your help increasing the book choices available to those students for independent reading in the classroom and at home. Given the current state of our world, dealing with the uncertainty during a pandemic, these books need to be in our students hands while they are at home. To foster fluency and comprehension, students need to be engaged in high accuracy or high sucess reading. The most of each student's independent reading time should be spent with material they can read with 99-100 percent accuracy. In order to do this, students have to find a book that is a good fit. How do you know if it is a good fit? The student picks the book and asks themselves these questions: What is my purpose for choosing this book? Am I interested in this book? Do I understand what I just read? Do I know most of the words? If they do not answer these questions positively, they might not stick with that book. Using the Scholastic Book Catalog, students can read about and select books at home. With your funding, we could purchase these books and send them directly to their home. Please help us finding a Book that Fits for each student in our program to keep at home during this time. Thank you!
