As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. Reading is something that brings joy to my students! When life can be difficult outside of school, being able to bring joy to their lives through literature, is so amazing. They deserve so much! My students have a hunger for literature! They love reading and listening to stories. Being able to provide each student with a new book every month throughout the school year would be just amazing! At the end of the school year, each student would have nine new books, just for them! This would not only enhance my students' love for literature, but will be so rewarding to their future in literacy.
