As a reading interventionist in a 4-6 grade school, I see the value in promoting reading for pleasure. Our students need to be exposed to literature of their choosing to understand the power of books. With the fundes that are being requested, we will have a bigger variety of books for students to choose from, during our whole school free book giveaway. Every student in our school will have the opportunity to choose a free book before each school scheduled break. We hope that this will motivate them to read while they are away from school during fall, winter and spring break. The donation will also help us to add a variety of genres and Spanish selections to our giveaway.
