Hello! My name is Brynna and I teach 5th grade. One of my personal goals as an educator this year is to rethink my teaching practice to be more diverse and inclusive. A big part of that is expanding our classroom library to include books with diverse authors, characters, and story lines to expose my students to more than what they're used to seeing and hearing about. My current wishlist with Scholastic is 90% books written by or written about people of different ethnicities, religions, nationalities, abilities, etc. and the other 10% is graphic novels...read more to help entice reluctant readers to get into a story without the pressure of a full novel.
