Treat Scripts as Stories
With the purpose of building strong readers ever in sight, treat the text of a play in much the same way as the text of a story. Read the title with students. Anticipate what the play might be about, and predict outcomes, conflicts, and character behaviors. Invite students to tell how they feel about the plot of the play!
