6 Picture Books About Transgender Children

Aug 13, 2015
Tonight as I was scrolling through Facebook I stumbled onto a discussion about transgendered children so full of misinformation that I felt compelled to do something. I'm a writer and teacher, my natural inclination is to gather information to help people learn. That's what this post is about.

I hope this list of books is ready and available for you when your children ask questions, or even better before they do. My children are young and weren't confused by anything in these books. In fact, 3 of these books are bedtime favorites. Adults often say that children will get confused by too much information when really it's just that the adults feel unable to explain the subject to the kids. These books will help that -- they break it down and help parents explain the topic. When we have more information we can create more understanding.
