Reading For Meaning: 1-Computer license
|
Teachers know that it's critical for students to be able to read and to understand what they read. In fact, a recent National Reading Panel (NRP) report, summarizing, 30 years of reading research, concluded that more explicit instruction of comprehension skills and strategies is essential for student success. Reading for Meaning helps teachers close this critical gap.
Employing a research-validated instructional model, Reading for Meaning targets the essential skills of main idea, inference, sequence, cause & effect, and compare & contrast. Each skill is explicitly modeled. Students then receive guided practice with authentic literature as well as independent practice with books of your choice. Includes an assessment exercise to teach students how to evaluate their responses using a simple, 3-point rubric. |
